Yesterday we discussed those who need to go and today we discuss those who are the 2nd tier candidates and stand a chance to be spoilers but not winners.
There are 2 that can be considered spoilers.
The first spot goes to David Hall. Not because he is a viable candidate but because his whole family is running in the race and that alone can create a name recognition wave. The Hall campaign has a litany of problems ranging from 95% of their signs being placed illegally in Davidson County and taking illegal monies that had to be returned to no real contributions to the campaign and terrible radio and TV ads. David Hall refused to come to debates and in the last debate stated he was unable to attend because he met with volunteers; however his website showed nothing planned (calendar has since been removed). David has consistently shunned the debate process which leads me to believe he is unable and unqualified to lead the district. Mr. Hall would be a very easy target for the Cooper machine.... Hall is NOT a serious contender to beat Cooper but he is a potential spoiler for the front-runners (to be talked about tomorrow) in the sense that he will pull votes from one or the other of the leaders (I will reveal who I believe he will pull from tomorrow.)
Number 2 goes to Bob Schwartz. Bob is a viable candidate under different circumstances in a different race. He is not a viable federal office candidate at this time. He has no major financial network and no inroads to money after a primary. Early on Bob seemed to have a message and was sticking to it but in recent days and weeks appears to be the anyone but Hartline Express. Another race another time Bob is a good viable candidate. If he dropped out today the top 2 would not be affected BUT if he stays in he could very well cost a front-runner the race (will discuss specifically tomorrow).
Tomorrow we discuss the front-runners with a wild card thrown in.
